Why take this course?
The new NDIS Supports List – AKA ‘what ’s in and what’s out’ – sounds pretty black and white. Until, of course, the NDIA released a disclaimer along the lines of … “ok, ok, but sometimes we will fund items on the out list…”
We’re talking about ‘replacement supports’ – specific scenarios where the NDIS will fund what’s NOT considered an NDIS support (with special approval, of course). Importantly, they’re not an extra support, but will replace supports in a plan.
With many participants using supports, for many years, that are now on the ‘out’ list – understanding ‘replacement supports’ is essential to make sure participants continue to get what they need out of their plan. Plus, when used wisely, replacement supports can even stretch an NDIS budget.
This 2 hour workshop gives participants, Support Coordinators, Allied Health Professionals and Psychology Professionals a clear understanding of how to request approval for a replacement support. We’ll go through different types of replacement supports, the necessary documentation and evidence, and ultimately, how to use them to better advocate for the people you support.
