Why take this course?
Despite all the changes happening in the NDIS right now (eligibility reassessments, increased compliance activity, unclear support lists and plan cuts, to name a few…) guidance on supporting participants with NDIS appeals is lacking – bordering on non-existent.
Many providers aren’t sure what decisions can actually be appealed, let alone how to support someone through the process. And here's the kicker: in some cases, it may not be lawful for providers to get involved at all. So navigating that fine line – between supporting a person to navigate an appeal and stepping over a boundary – is complex.
This practical 2 hour workshop focuses on what providers can do. We’ll talk about the new Administrative Review Tribunal, what can be appealed (and what can’t), and where your responsibilities begin and end. You’ll leave with a better understanding of your role – including ways to explain options to a participant, resources, and where to call for support to get an application started. Because with more appeals on the horizon, your ability to guide someone through the process (without stepping on a legal landmine) is no longer optional. It’s essential.
