Why take this course?

In 2023-24 alone, the NDIA cancelled $57 million in provider payments due to compliance issues. That’s $57 million in services already delivered, overheads incurred, staff already paid – gone. And with the Payment Integrity Team ramping up audits, this number has been climbing through 2024-25 and is only set to increase even more.

Many payment rejections come down to avoidable mistakes, like not enough evidence or misalignment with Participant plans. And with the average Payment Integrity Audit taking 60 days to resolve, can your cash flow afford to be stuck in limbo? It’s now clear it’s not just about responding to Payment Integrity Audits – it’s about good preparation to avoid them happening altogether. Prevention is always better than cure!

This practical two hour workshop will tackle the root of the problem through a simple self auditing process. By auditing yourself (before the NDIA gets a chance to) you can cut down on errors and maximise revenue – both by making sure you get paid for the services you deliver and uncovering areas where you’re undercharging.

What you’ll gain

Across 2 hours, we’ll dive into:

  • Compliance risks: gain a clear understanding of the compliance risks associated with NDIS payments and the financial implications of non-compliance.

  • How to conduct effective self-assessments: learn how to conduct a thorough payment integrity self-assessment to identify and rectify compliance errors, before they lead to rejected claims.

  • How to identify common mistakes: recognise the top mistakes commonly made by providers in invoicing and payment processing, allowing you to avoid these pitfalls in the future.

  • How to spot undercharging opportunities: identify services that are often undercharged, finding ways to boost your revenue legitimately.

  • Align support with evidence: learn how to effectively map support services to the required evidence, making sure all claims are substantiated and compliant with NDIA guidelines.

Rob Woolley

Our very own Woolly Mammoth, pulls up last in the alphabetical rankings but always gets a place on the DSC podium for combining curiosity with smarts. He knows so much about the NDIS it is scary. Rob lives a personal commitment to sharing his knowledge with an endgame of people with disability in control. Combining lived experience of the early childhood intervention pathway with professional experience of the realities of provider life - he has consistently shown the inability to hold down a real job. His roles in the disability sector have covered direct support work, project management, business development, consulting, ILC-funded advocacy roles and owner-operator of a registered and then unregistered provider (but the thing he is best at is being a very present dad). If you want a consultant or trainer in your corner you will be looking high and low to do better than our Rob.
