Course Overview
Learn to minimise the risk of seizures, from understanding triggers and treatment to safely administering Midazolam in an emergency.
Why take this course?
As a support worker you play a crucial role in supporting people with epilepsy who experience seizures. Workers need to know how to recognise seizures, know how to respond and recognise when emergency help is needed. By following a person’s Epilepsy Management Plan correctly, you can reduce risks and provide support that maintains dignity and quality of life
This 70 minute eLearning will build your confidence in assisting people with epilepsy and seizures. When done correctly, a Support Worker should follow their organisation’s policies and procedures, a person’s Epilepsy Management Plan (EMP) and Emergency Medication Management Plan (EEMP). We’ll also introduce the different types of medications, safe administration, and strategies for minimising risk with everyday activities.
This online course has been created with expert training content from Premium Health and forms part of our series of 7 High Intensity Daily Personal Activities eLearning modules.
