Course Overview
A 70 minute eLearning module on how to confidently support people living with epilepsy and minimise the risk of seizures.
Why take this course?
Epilepsy is a chronic non-communicable disease of the brain that can affect anyone. When managed effectively, a person can live with epilepsy and experience very few to no seizures at all. As a Support Worker, you can play an active role in minimising this risk.
This 70 minute eLearning will build your confidence in assisting people with epilepsy and seizures. When done correctly, a Support Worker should follow their organisation’s policies and procedures, a person’s Epilepsy Management Plan (EMP) and Emergency Medication Management Plan (EEMP). We’ll also introduce the different types of medications, safe administration, and strategies for minimising risk with everyday activities.
This online course has been created with expert training content from Premium Health and forms part of our series of 7 High Intensity Daily Personal Activities eLearning modules.
