Biography

Lydia Dockrill is a fierce believer in the power of choice for people with disability. Lydia works closely with allied health professionals and support coordinators, helping them navigate the ins and outs of housing options under the NDIS. Lydia has a special interest in supporting  Allied Health clinicians to understand the nitty gritty of the  Home and Living legislation, leading to the development of high quality evidence that gets results!

Her journey started in Dunedin, New Zealand, where she trained as a Physiotherapist. After nearly a decade in fast-paced hospital settings across NZ and Australia, a game-changing training session in 2019 shifted her focus. It opened her eyes to the possibilities of community-based living - and she’s never looked back. Since then, Lydia’s been using her clinical knowledge and real-world experience to spark change and reimagine what’s possible for people with disability.

When she’s not working, Lydia’s out exploring with her family and their golden retriever, Grace. Her garden is full of bee hives, dahlias, and veggies, and she loves teaching her son Ryan to enjoy the magic of nature.
