Course Overview

Let’s talk about money. More specifically, managing, storing and supporting a participant to use their money and property in a way that’s in line with the NDIS Practice Standards.

Looking after our personal property and finances is important to all of us. And as a Support Worker or Team Leader, you’ll often find yourself in a scenario where a Participant trusts you with theirs. 

It can be challenging to know the right way to go about it – with each individual having different support needs, some grey areas around balancing dignity of risk with duty of care, as well as facilitating Supported Decision Making. 

This 60 minute eLearning module breaks down what frontline workers and leaders need to know about their responsibilities under the NDIS Practice Standards when it comes to managing, storing, and using participants' money and property. We’ll touch on the documentation requirements you should have in place, behaviours and practices to avoid, and how to empower participants and safeguard them from exploitation.
